Important Product Call-In – IZM Air Circuit Breakers

Quality monitoring of IZM circuit-breakers delivered from 1987 to 1993 has revealed the risk of a malfunction of the trip unit.
A purchased electronic part could show signs of premature ageing, as a result of which the IZM circuit-breaker might not trip correctly when required. As a consequence, loss of power may occur or fire may be caused, holding the risk of further damage or personal injuries, depending on the point of installation of the circuit-breaker.
As a preventive measure, to avoid serious risks due to a possible failure of this safety related function of the circuit-breaker, we offer all our customers free inspection of the trip unit and replacement, if necessary.
For all circuit-breakers where the point of installation is known to us this has already been done. However, there are still circuit-breakers where the site of installation is not known to us. Here, your assistance is requested.
Please inspect your control panels and distribution boards. The pictures on the left show the affected IZM circuit-breaker and the trip units. The relevant trip units can be identified by their black or white setting buttons. Trip units with blue setting buttons and digital circuit-breakers are not affected.
