Press ReleaseMoellers Distribution Equipment Majors on Versatility
Among the many new products available are relays, timers, contactors, light intensity switches and even remote control devices that operate via an ordinary telephone connection. All items are designed for easy integration with Moeller Electric protective devices, and all are suitable for installation in standard distribution boards. Relays in the new product range include impulse-operated types which are ideal for use in pushbutton-operated lighting control schemes, as well as standard types for general control applications. These are complemented by electronic staircase switches with an integral timing function, which allow safe and energy efficient lighting systems for halls and stairways to be implemented easily and conveniently. Separate timers, that can provide functions such as delay-on, delay-off and pulse, and which can be set to provide timing periods from one to ten hours, are also available, along with 24-hour and 7-day timeswitches in analogue and digital versions. For switching larger loads, Moeller offers installation contactors with ratings up to 63A. Developed specifically for distribution applications, these products feature a special magnet design that minimises switching noise and eliminates humming, making them an ideal choice for use in quiet domestic and commercial environments. The contactors also have exceptionally low holding currents, minimising heat generation and power consumption. Light intensity switches in the new range provide a convenient method for optimising the energy use of indoor and outdoor lighting systems. Supplied with a remote sensor, they can be set to operate at light levels from 2 to 10,000 lux and incorporate integral timing functions to guard against unnecessary operation in the event of short-term fluctuations in light level. Where comprehensive remote control facilities are required, the telephone control devices in the new range offer an attractive solution. Available in versions with up to five output channels, these allow the operation of the electrical installation to be controlled simply by calling it using any ordinary pushbutton or mobile phone. When the call is established, keying in number sequences operates the device's outputs. Depending on the model, correct operation is confirmed by tones or by voice messages. Also featured in Moeller Electric's new family of ancillary products for electrical installations are pushbuttons and multifunction LED indicators, isolating switches with ratings up to 250A, and compact transformers with ratings from 8VA to 63VA that are ideal for operating bells and other acoustic sounders, as well as for use in conjunction with rectifiers as the basis for simple power supplies.
