Keeping in Contact with Switching Protection

[picture of DILM units] Moeller has expanded its DILM contactor range with three new types – offering ratings up to 2,000A AC-1.

The range comprises: the DILM1000, which offers 1,000A/560kW AC-3; the DILH1400, which offers 1,400A AC-1; and the DILH2000, offering 2,000A AC-1.

All the contactors from 580A are vacuum type. Using this configuration, they can offer considerable advantages over air-break types, such as a longer electrical lifespan, maintenance free switching chamber (for the entire lifespan of the device) and a cleaner and safer environment as no gasses and vapours can escape and no switching arc occurs.

All DILM contactors from 185A have an innovative electronic coil. Through the use of this coil, a number of major user benefits can be realised. These include: a significantly lower temperature rise, due to sealing power consumption being reduced to 4%; smaller control transformers because of lower pick-up consumption; considerably wider voltage tolerance than standards demands, giving greater reliability in the event of voltage fluctuation; and direct actuation from PLCs without interface contactors.
