Press Release

Expanding the Innovative Moeller easy Range with the New EASY 800 Relay

[picture of easy units] Following on from the success of its existing range of easy control relays, Moeller has expanded the series with the addition of the EASY 800 relay.

The EASY 800 relay provides even more capability including network functionality but retains the Easy range's simplicity in terms of programming thus negating the need for training. As a natural extension of the Easy devices, the EASY 800 delivers even more functionality. Offering a large number of inputs/outputs the EASY 800 is ideally suited for applications such as building lighting control, heating and cooling systems and machine control.

EASY 800 control relays can be simply and economically connected with one another by means of its built-in Easy-Net interface. Up to eight control relays can communicate with one another via this interface at a distance of up to 1000m, irrespective of whether the individual device is processing its own program or being used merely as a remote input/output module. Moreover each EASY 800 device can be locally expanded through an Easy Link interface. This enables the units to be used in automation applications that require from 12 to 300 I/O points. The entire network can be monitored via a PC connected to the controller's interface. A wide choice of communication modules allows the relays to be connected to a host of fieldbus networks including Profibus DP, CAN and AS-i.

With the EASY 800's twelve inputs, six relay or eight transistor outputs, users can implement complex control tasks. Furthermore to implement circuit diagram configurations, 256 lines of control circuits are available giving users plenty of space for applications and subsequent modifications or extensions. As a fully-featured member of the Easy family the EASY 800 benefits from a real time clock, offers the installer space savings and counts high speed signals.

The wiring diagram is clearly shown on the unit's four line LCD, now capable of displaying 32 different user-specific texts with two variables, for each of which 64 characters are available. This allows detailed information such as alarms, temperatures, and timer/counter values to be displayed, enabling users to quickly check important parameters and system status. Designed for use globally users have the choice of ten different languages including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese.

With the easy-Soft version 4 software for Windows 95/98 and NT, the user can input circuit diagrams via the simple drag-and-drop circuit configuration. The built-in off-line simulation function allows the user to test the circuit functions properly before commissioning without the module being connected. Thanks to an operating temperature ranging from -25C to +55C the EASY 800 provides trouble free switching and control even in the most severe environments.
