Press ReleaseMoeller Electric’s easySafety Makes Safety Easy!
The latest addition to Moeller’s popular easyRelay family of programmable relays, easySafety units fully meet the requirements of Category 4 in line with EN 954-1, PL e in line with EN ISO 13849-1, SILCL 3 in line with EN IEC 62061 and SIL3 in line with EN IEC 61508. They can, therefore, be used in even the most demanding of safety related applications. As an added bonus, easySafety relays provide facilities for standard control functions as well as safety functions. In many applications, this allows the implementation of very compact and cost-effective control and safety systems based on a single device. All easySafety relays are supplied pre-programmed with a comprehensive range of safety function blocks. These include, for example, emergency stop functions, guard door monitoring, zero and overspeed detection, and two-hand control, as well as dedicated functions for use with safety mats, safety foot switches and operating mode selector switches. Users simply choose the function blocks they wish to use, and configure them to suit their application. This programming can either be carried out on the relay itself for models with an integrated display, or with the aid of the easySoft Safety software package running on a PC. Comprehensive password protection facilities are provided to ensure that programming can only be carried out by authorised persons. Programmable safety relays in the easySafety range can optionally be supplied in versions with an integral liquid crystal display screen. In addition to facilitating programming, this can also be used to show user-defined messages. All easySafety relays have 14 safety inputs, and are they are available with either four relay outputs, or one redundant output plus four transistor outputs. The outputs are all designed as safety outputs. While ideal for use as standalone devices, easySafety relays can be readily integrated into larger systems, or enhanced by the addition of other products from the easyRelay range. Remote display facilities can, for example, be added by using an MFD Titan unit, and all easySafety relays incorporate an easyNet interface that makes networking simple.
