Open Up the Way to Complete Control

[picture of MI4 panels]Moeller’s MI4 display and operator panels interface with any fieldbus or PLC

The MI4 display and operator panels from Moeller Electric UK deliver a comprehensive tool for communication between man and machine.

With the ability to interface open fieldbus systems, they can be connected to virtually all existing control systems. Appropriate plug in modules can be selected for the relevant bus interface and what's more the programme function blocks are already integrated and pre-configured into the system.

When it comes to hardware the key word is modularity. A communication module lets you match devices to any fieldbus system without any problems. Communication modules for use with Profibus, CANopen, Siemens MPI, DeviceNet and Suconet K are available for use with the MI4 devices. To offer even greater flexibility an 8MB-memory card for all graphics and touch operator panels is available. This allows the user to download projects directly from a PC in only three seconds.

Delivering clear information that allows the operator to take the right decisions at the right time, the MI4 is ideal for the job. Project status information is represented in a clear and transparent fashion. All application functions are carried out via active fields or touch zones. There are three classes of operator devices available namely: text operator panels, graphics operator panels and touch operator panels utilising resistive technology. There is also the option of the Moeller hand held unit, giving you the option of portability.

The MI4 series offers complete configurability using the same software. The software operates under Windows NT, 95, 98 and 2000. Without any expert programming knowledge required, the menu guidance in the software automatically adjusts to the selected display and operator panel. Contained within the system there is a keypad macro editor. This tool enables the user to customise operator handling by assigning different functions to each function or touch key.

The MI4 series is fully supported by Moeller’s team of support engineers based in Aylesbury and more information can be found at the company’s website at www.moeller.co.uk.
