Moeller Pushes the Button on Motor Protection

[picture of PKZM01]Part of its xStart motor protection range, Moeller's latest PKZM01 motor-protective circuit-breakers are ideally suited to small machines and applications where operation by pressing or even hitting a button is preferred. A mushroom head (twist-to-release or key-release) for emergency-stop is also available.

PKZ has become a global brand for motor-protective circuit-breakers, and in the new PKZM01 devices, Moeller has reintroduced the popular pushbutton actuation. Rated up to 16A and 7.5kW, AC-3, 415V, the PKZM01 joins the popular rotary types; PKZM0 now rated up to 32A and the PKZM4 with an operating range from 10 to 65A. The PKZM01 has a short circuit switching capacity of 50kA (400V), whereas the PKZM0 has been significantly increased to 150kA up to 12A and 50kA up to 32A. The PKZM4 also has a switching capacity of 50kA.

The PKZM01 uses the same range of clip-on accessories – auxiliary contacts and voltage releases – as the PKZM0 and PKZM4 to provide failsafe information about the switching state; On or Off; overload or short circuit.

Using the same accessories across all types means that selection is made easy and stock holding is greatly reduced. In addition to these accessories, there are insulated enclosures for surface or flush mounting with ingress protection IP40 or IP65.

Moeller's xStart range covers everything needed in the motor circuit from contactors to efficient motor starters to controlled drives.
