Moeller’s ZEV Wins Innovative Product Of The Year Award

Moeller Electric picked up the prestigious Innovative Product of the Year Award for its revolutionary ZEV motor protection system, at this year’s Electrical Industry Awards ceremony, held in London on 25 October 2001.
The ZEV overload relay uniquely incorporates Rogowski coil technology, providing not only a lighter and more compact solution compared to conventional overload protection, but also improved fault diagnosis, motor protection and reductions in stockholding. More important still, the units are considerably easier to install.
Accepting the award on behalf of the company, Ian Harwood, General Manager – Sales and Marketing, Industrial Automation Division, said: "Moeller Electric has built a strong reputation for developing highly innovative products. The accolade of the Electrical Industry's Innovative Product of the Year Award recognises the company's continued commitment to technical excellence."
In selecting the Innovative Product of the Year the panel of judges gave additional consideration to entries which showed the challenges of reaching an innovative solution or which showed evidence of the imaginative use of technology. Moeller took Rogowski coil technology, which has been used for many years in the measurement of AC electrical currents in test laboratories, and made it a commercially viable electronic overload protection solution. The end result was the ZEV range.
