Safety Position Switches

The best protection for personnel and processes

Safety Position Switches

Reliable and tamper-proof

Safety components reliably monitor and protect protective guards, doors and covers. Thanks to their multi-coded actuators they provide a high degree of protection against tampering.

Equipped with double-break contacts, they are also suitable for use in the configuration of redundant safety circuits. It goes without saying that interlocked opposing contacts and positively-opening break contacts to IEC/EN 60 947-5-1 are provided and that the switches are suitable for use with electronic devices in accordance with IEC/EN 61 131-2, enabling the safe exchange of information with any controller.

All operating heads on the safety components can be rotated through 4 × 90°. With the high degree of protection IP 65, the safety components ensure wide-ranging individual application.

Caution: Any changes to the original Moeller safety position switches are strictly forbidden and lead automatically to the loss of all approvals!

LS-ZB and LS4-ZB Safety Position Switches

Position Switch LS..-ZBLS-ZB and LS4-ZB are used on centrifuges, motor and gearbox covers, presses, etc.

These safety position switches with separate actuators provide protection for personnel: if the protective guard is opened, they disconnect the power and in so doing, remove the danger.

Further advantages of LS4-ZB

  • Offers the highest degree of flexibility.
  • The operating head can be actuated from both sides.
  • Actuators, which can be inserted from more than one direction, permit horizontal or vertical mounting of the switch.
  • Three sizes of housing are available, i.e. a switch for every location.
  • Comply with EN 1088 "Interlocks with and without mechanical securing action"

Further advantages of LS-ZB

  • Five different directions of actuation – the actuator can be inserted from all four sides and from above.
  • Connection option: Cage-Clamp or screw terminals.
  • The removable cover allows optimum handling.
  • Complies with 1088 "Interlocks with and without mechanical securing action".

LS-ZBZ – Securing and Interlocking

LS-ZBZBy reliable securing and interlocking of protective doors, the LS-ZBZ increases the safety standards for the protection of personnel and processes. The LS-ZBZ operates according to one of two principles: on the basis of magnet-powered or spring-powered interlocking.

Using the magnet-powered design, the protective cover is interlocked when operational voltage is applied, and can therefore be opened directly in the event of power failure.

The spring-powered scheme ensures that the door or protective guard remains safely locked even in the event of power failure. The interlock is released when power is applied to the LS-ZBZ. This means that personnel are protected from overrunning machines. This variety of the LS-ZBZ only opens once the potentially dangerous movement has ceased. In an emergency, the protective guard can be opened using an auxiliary release mechanism.

Via a second switching contact, dangerous processes can be monitored from the control station.

Further advantages of LS-ZBZ

  • Can be mounted in any location.
  • Actuating head can be rotated through 4 × 90°.
  • Six different actuators round off the range.

LSR/TS Hinge-operated and LSR/TKG Hasp-operated Switches

LSR/TS Hinge-Operated SwitchThe safety of all personnel working in production halls must be ensured at all times. Protective doors and hinged flaps that keep people out of hazardous areas, are monitored by Moeller safety switches.

Where an attempt is made to open a protected door or flap during operation, the ATR/TS hinge-operated switches and the ATR/TK hasp-operated switches immediately disconnect the power supply to the machine or installation. Opening is registered at an angle of only 5°, and so even tampering is not possible.

Reliable safeguarding of hinged protective guards

LSR/TKG Hasp-Operated Switch Wherever tampering must be absolutely prevented and protruding actuating levers would be unacceptable, LSR/TS hinge-operated switches and LSR/TKG hasp-operated switches undertake the reliable safeguarding of hinged protective guards.

Flexibility in all conditions

The safety components can be fitted flush both in narrow style enclosures to EN 50 047, and in wide version enclosures. The operating head can be rotated through 4 x 90°. The actuating lever of the LSR/TKG hasp-operated switch can be easily converted on site to align with the position of the protective cover.

This ensures optimum matching to the application in question and facilitates selection when ordering.
